The Spotlight: Stockholm, Sweden

Just the Highlights

Sweden was the perfect start to my Summer 2022 travels. It was a stark contrast to my usual life here in India, but I appreciated the differences. From the time I landed I remembered thinking, this is SOOO IKEA! Everything was clean, fresh, and simple.

Here's an overview of how I spent 5 days in Stockholm. For a more detailed look on the trip, check out a more in-depth blog post here!

Airport: Fly into ARN. It’s about 23 miles outside of the city. Take the Arlanda Express to the city and back to the airport. A round-trip ticket is about $53.

Hotel: The Sheraton Stockholm was centrally located with comfortable beds, good breakfast, and standard amenities. Other hotels nearby included the Radisson Blu and Scandic hotels.

What to Eat:

  • Breakfast

    • Cafe Schweizer in Gamla Stan

    • Greasy Spoon (multiple locations)

  • Lunch

    • Vasa Museum restaurant (classic Swedish meals)

  • Dinner

    • Un Poco (Italian)

    • Gojo Hornstull (Ethiopian)

  • Close curtains before going to sleep. In the summer the sun rises at 3:30am and sets around 10pm.

  • Pack layers to stay warm/cool throughout the day

  • Comfortable shoes (*sneakers*) are a must!

  • Book the trip and get outside! Stockholm is definitely a sight to see!
